Client: T2 Manchester Airport
Location: Manchester, UK
Manchester Airport needed a bright and fresh look for the new, extended T2 security area. The Degafloor Flake system - proposed by flooring specialist No Flaw Ltd, was chosen for the floor areas within this prestigious multi million pound refurbishment.
Two bespoke colour finishes were developed for the project to meet the exact requirements of the airport and project architects, Pascall & Watson. A dark grey based mix was designed for the security search area and a fresh light grey based mix was used for all surrounding circulation areas. Approved installer, No Flaw Ltd, was chosen by main building contractor Laing O’Rourke to handle all aspects of the complex installation. MAXIT pump applied levelling screeds were installed throughout the 2,500 sq metre area, following which the Degafloor Flake system was applied.
Degafloor Flake system is tried and tested in the heaviest use commercial environments and this durability, together with a unique cure time of 2 hours and aesthetic flexibility, made the product an ideal choice for the airport. Chris Frost of Laing O’Rourke said “Degafloor and No Flaw delivered an excellent service, especially given the complexity and difficulties surrounding installation. Laing O’Rourke are extremely happy with the quality of the finished product”.
Degafloor MMA resin flooring was essential for this project due to the unbeatable quality of the product, in addition to the invaluable support and technical knowledge of the Degafloor team.
This challenging and high profile project was a great success for everyone involved.
